Objective: This assessment plan aims to evaluate the effectiveness and impact of research services provided by the Susie McClure Library. The assessment will seek to identify areas of strengths and weaknesses, as well as opportunities for improvement better to meet the needs of the library's users.
Methodology:
User Surveys: A survey will be conducted to gather feedback from users about their experiences with the research services provided by the library. The survey will focus on user satisfaction, the perceived value of services, ease of use, and the overall effectiveness of research support.
Usage Data Analysis: Library usage data will be analyzed to determine the usage level of research services and resources, including the frequency and types used. This analysis will help identify areas where additional resources or support may be needed.
Focus Groups: Focus groups will be conducted with students, faculty, and staff to better understand user needs and preferences regarding research services. These focus groups will also allow users to suggest improvements or new service ideas.
Citation Analysis: Citation analysis will be used to evaluate the impact of library resources on the institution's research output. This analysis will involve examining citations to library resources in research publications and assessing the extent to which the library's resources are used in scholarly work.
Benchmarking: Benchmarking will compare the library's research services with peer institutions. This will help identify areas where we can improve our services and resources to meet our users' needs better.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Data collected from the various assessment methods will be analyzed, and a report will be generated summarizing the findings. The report will include recommendations for improvements to research services and resources and suggestions for future research and assessment activities. The report will be shared with library staff and relevant campus stakeholders to inform decision-making and guide improvements to the library's research services.
