Julius Scruggs' Special Collections and Archives

The Julius Scruggs' Special Collections and Archives is currently unavailable at this time due to recent archival and preservation projects.

Julius Scruggs Special Collections & Archives

The aim of the Julius Scruggs' Special Collections and Archives (JSSCA) is to collect, preserve, and house all available information related to the history of American Baptist College and notable alumni, and university publications of former and current faculty members.

The Special Collections and Archives includes photos of students, faculty, and staff; the administrations of the American Baptist presidents over time; early campus buildings; and organizations, activities, events, and other materials related to the College.

Special Note: JSSCA materials center around our history as American Baptist Theological Seminary. Items in our collection include a letter to the president from Langston Hughes, and photos of notable civil rights activists in American history.
Researchers planning to visit the Archives are encouraged to email Dr. Angel Pridgen (apridgen@abcnash.edu) to make an appointment.

Digital Repository at ABC

The digital repository houses several of our primary documents and photo collections. It is important to highlight that the repository may not encompass the entirety of the college's possessions, as we endeavor to upload digitized copies on a bi-weekly basis for public perusal.
